Welcome to 2017 everyone....it was a great year for many of us (but with a particularly sad finish for the Rosses). Joni and I enjoyed seeing everyone in the basket community this past year, and we welcomed our third grandchild, Aariona! However, our family lost our good buddy, Cooper in December, to pneumonia and a blood clot. While we do not want to imply that losing a pet is anything like the loss of a parent, child or relation, we will particularly miss our shop-dog, Cooper. Many of you met him at events at the house, and many have heard stories. He was 12 years old, was almost daily in the shop/studio, and was a boon companion to our grandchildren. We thank everyone for thier kind thoughts and wishes in this regard. He was a good old dog.
OUR thoughts go out to the folks in eastern TN following the horrible fires late last year. We have many good friends in that area and are glad that they, at least, are safe. Our prayers are with the families who lost loved ones and property in that terrible time.
On to happier news! We start the new year with an event in Aiken, SC before heading to Guilder's Weave in Virginia. We have cut back slightly on the number of events Joni will teach at in 2017 in order to give us a little more family time. However, we will still be on the road a lot in 2017. The full schedule is up on this website. In addition, we made numerous updates and optimizations to the website over the holidays. We hope to see all of you at sometime in 2017.
Finally, we wanted to announce the availability of two new Bonsai Collection baskets for 2017. Joni wove the first Bonsai Flare-the-Well and the first Bonsai David's Bowl, and they are pictured below. The ones shown are in Ambeosia Maple and Maple/Ambrosia Maple.
Happy New Year everoyone!
Remember, it IS a beautiful day.....don't let it slip away.....David
