As I mentioned last time, Joni is taking a SECOND week of vacation in a row, in McMinnville, TN, weaving with some friends at Eric Taylor's Studio. It should be no surprise to anyone who know's Joni that she enjoys weaving on a mold. So the style of basket that Eric developed (a cross between Shaker and Nantucket baskets) definitely appeals to her. Here is the link to Eric's website: http://www.erictaylorbasketry.com
Joni's personal Post-Trip Report:
Last week I spent 5 1/2 days in McMinnville, TN with several friends weaving in Eric Taylor,s studio. When I am not weaving Nantucket baskets (which is rare) I Treat myself by weaving with one of the teachers I admire. This year was an amazing 5 1/2 days weaving with Eric Taylor, playing with Jaxon (a super cool dog) while grabbing a few moments with Eric's amazing and equally talented wife Lynne and their beloved other dog Chance. In this relaxing environment, I was able to complete the Mountain Tub set (well, I actually still need to make the 6" Mountain Tub, but the kit and mold are with me). I made the Cottage Purse, which is unique and clever, along with Eric's new Eyeglass Basket. It was an incredible weaving frenzy. We all had fun. I returned home refreshed, ready to weave, always happy to be home with David....already looking forward to Eric's next year.
That's all for today! Take care everyone!
David and Joni Ross
