Oh Boy, have I been lax. Just realized I have not blogged since Aiken. Joni and I are currently at the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC. We are presently parked in the campsite on top of the hill overlooking the school, enjoying a quiet evening after class. The class consists of 4 students from Idaho to Tennessee to Virginia, and everyone, including Joni, seem to be having a good time. I will post a blog on the Folk School when classes are complete, but will first catch you up on events over the last 30 days or so.
We finished in Aiken at the SPCA, and headed straight home to pick up Kamaya and Kingston to take them back to SC (the northeast corner of the state) to see the Eclipse. We were in the area of totality and got about 2 and a half minutes of totality. What a treat! Nobody had their eyes burned out and I believe we created a memory to last a lifetime for these two rascals. Then it was back home for more time with the family, including a Color Vibe 5K with Lindsey and Kamaya, as we got ready for an HNCB Workshop in Greensboro. Joni has already posted most of those pictures on Facebook, so I will use add that it was a lot of fun. Joni and I really enjoy hosting events at the house. It is nice to be able to spend a little extra time at home, and these help us do that, as well as keeping up with Joni's basket time.
The pictures below tell the whole story!
One last thing. Joni and I would appreciate it if you would keep my Mom, Joyce Ross in your thoughts as she goes through some medical tests. Look back to the blog on May 16, 2016 - ''First in a series of profiles about HNCB'' - for more about Mom.
Thanks, and more later!
It has been a truly beautiful day here in the NC mountains and we look forward to another tomorrow. We won't let it slip away!
