On day four, we flipped the hulls back upside down and pulled the rest of the wires out and sanded (again). We all then laid a length of fiberglass cloth on the bottoms of the hulls and spread epoxy. Friday the epoxy had hardened so that we could trim the excess and sand off the sharp pointy edges. Then it was time to install the daggerboard trunks and the side rails. The entire boat is held together by epoxy glue, except for 4 screws in the skeg (keel) and 6 in the daggerboard trunk!
Tonight the Wooden Boat School staff put on a lobster bake down by the water. Our lobster count is well over 15 since we left North Carolina, and we still have several more days in Maine!
Take care.....David
